Returns and Exchanges
In-Store Returns/Exchanges:
Textbooks: At the beginning of each semester, there is a designated refund period during which books may be returned for a full refund when they meet the following criteria:
1) they are accompanied by a receipt (absolutely no refund will be made without a receipt!)
2) they are in their original condition, i.e. new books not written in or damaged in any way; shrink wrap unopened; CDs, web access codes or other ancillary materials included.
Once this refund period has ended, textbooks may be returned for a refund (under the same conditions) within one business day.
Clothing, Gifts, School Supplies: Any general merchandise may be exchanged or returned for a full refund, as long as the items are in their original condition and packaging, if any. Clothing should have merchandise tags still attached. With a receipt, refunds will be made as above. Without a receipt, refunds may be approved and made to a Bookstore Gift Card or an exchange may be made at the discretion of the department manager. Exceptions: art supplies, jewelry items and sale items, are NOT returnable.
Computers, Computer Hardware, and Software: Computers may be returned within 14 days and must include the receipt, the original box with all accessories included, and be in new condition. No refunds are allowed on computers with any physical damage. Software, ink cartridges, iPods and iPod headphones may be returned with the receipt within 30 days only if the packaging is unopened. Note: opened iPods and Apple headphones cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason. Warranty support is available directly through Apple. All other computer department merchandise can be returned or exchanged within 30 days with the receipt if it is undamaged and in the original packaging.
General Books: Refunds or exchanges are possible within thirty days of purchase with a receipt if books are undamaged in any way.
Refunds are posted to the original method of payment: credit card, Gate Card, or cash. Note: payments made by check will be refunded as cash after check has cleared the bank or ten days, whichever comes first.
Online Purchases:
Returning a gift or an item you purchased on-line is easy. Please include your receipt with your return/exchange. We will credit the account originally charged within 10 business days from receipt of the return. Exchanges will have a shipping charge of $6.50 billed directly to the credit card on file, unless other arrangements have been made. Sale items are NOT returnable.
