Author and Pediatrician Frederick Roberts will read and sign his book, Children Courageous. Proceeds will go to the Children's Hospital.

Dr. Roberts will read from his new book Children Courageous and Their Families on Saturday, October 15th at 11:30 am at Colgate Bookstore. In his new book Dr. Roberts tells the stories of 23 families and their children, who from the very first cry fought the odds of illness and disease.
Lullabies and Nightmares is a semi-fictional creation. It deals with the practice of Pediatric Medicine as the author lived it. It covers more than fifty-five years of dealing with children and the sweeping changes that took place in those years. Dr. Roberts has taken great pains to tell these stories so that real events are portrayed but the families he has have known do not appear as identifiable individuals.
Roberts and his wife, Ann are natives of Upstate New York. Dr. Roberts, a practicing pediatrician since 1945, is currently the medical director of Crouse Pediatrics in Fayetteville, New York, and a clinical professor of pediatrics at Upstate Medical University at Syracuse. The proceeds from the sale of this book and from his first book, Lullabies and Nightmares, will benefit the new Children's Hospital which will serve all of Central New York. This is a free event.
The CNY Children’s Hospital, opening in early 2008, will offer a complete range of health care services for children from birth to 18. University Hospital is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for routine, complex and severe pediatric disorders in a 17 – county region.
