KnitLit and KnitLit Too were huge successes in the knitting and literary communities because they were able connect with readers' love of the craft through heartwarming stories. With the success of KnitLit and KnitLit Too comes the third installment of original stories about knitting, KNITLIT THE THIRD We Spin More Yarns. In KNITLIT THE THIRD Linda Roghaar and Molly Wolf continue the tradition of weaving together people's dreams, struggles, and successes in a unique collection, adding new voices and even more touching tales.
KNITLIT THE THIRD builds on the success of the first two compilations with new inspiring stories to make you laugh out loud, cry on your friend’s shoulder, and pick up your knitting needles to start that project you had put away for a rainy day. Knitters young and old have already started sharing their own stories at knit-ins around the country (bookstore events with a twist–bring your own knitting projects while you listen to contributors share their stories and memories about knitting!)
What makes KNITLIT THE THIRD compelling is its rich diversity of voices. Included are stories from men and women, young and old, with varying levels of expertise living all over the country in Rhode Island, Nevada, Georgia, California, Canada, Texas, Vermont, Maine, Illinois, New Mexico, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Wyoming, Virginia, Florida, Alabama, Massachusetts, and New York. The contributors in KNITLIT THE THIRD have come together to share more than just a hobby, they are also sharing a part of their lives. Deeply touching and personal, the essays included touch on subjects such as motherhood, death, friendship, and lovers.
With over 70 essays, Roghaar and Wolf have woven together a wonderful collection for KNITLIT THE THIRD including stories about the joys, triumphs, and frustrations of knitting. Like yoga, pilates, and feng shui, knitting is a trendy (and relaxing!) pastime that has now become mainstream. Many knitters enjoy reading about knitting almost as much as they like doing it! The KnitLit series has clearly struck a chord with readers and knitters alike, and has gained a reputation as an appealing, high-quality, unusual addition to the literature of knitting.
If you haven’t started knitting yet or you’ve noticed that your yarn stash is collecting dust, now is the time to get inspired by picking up a copy of KNITLIT THE THIRD!
About the editorsLinda Roghaar is a literary agent and obsessive knitter based in Massachusetts. Molly Wolf is a writer, editor, spinner, and frequent sock knitter. She lives in Canada.
