How do I get my computer connected to Colgate's network?

There are requirements that must be met prior to a personal computer being granted access to Colgate network. Requirements include: (1) installing and running the Colgate provided antivirus software, which is provided free of charge for both Windows and Macintosh students; (2) installing the enterprise antivirus management client called the ePO Agent (required for Windows computers only); and (3) registering the computer’s MAC (Media Access Control) address.
In order to protect a personal computer from becoming infected with viruses or hacked, personal computer owners must also make sure their Operating Systems are legally licensed to THEM, that they are fully patched and up to date, and that all accounts are secure (Administrator account and the Guest account cause the most
problems).
One of the greatest benefits to purchasing a computer from the Colgate Bookstore is that all of these requirements will be met for you. If requirements change, the Bookstore will support students in implementing those changes. There may be a few additional steps required upon arrival to campus, but the majority of the configurations will be taken care of for you.
