What kind of computer should I buy?

Many students purchase a laptop — they can be easily carried around campus and brought home during breaks, used in the libraries or labs, and are handy for students who are working on collaborative projects, or who will be traveling with an athletic team or spending a semester abroad. Desktop computers can offer a little more machine for the money and are often more easily upgraded and serviced. Students considering purchase should know that the number of Windows based computers far exceeds the number of Macintosh systems found on campus.
