Who runs the buyback?

The Colgate Bookstore has partnered with the Nebraska Book Company (NBC) to operate the buyback. The Bookstore could not run the buyback by itself.

Why do we invite NBC on campus twice a year? NBC is one of the largest used book wholesalers in the nation. Consequently, they have the nation's largest and most complete list of titles for which they can offer monetary value.

If Colgate alone ran the buyback, the University could only offer value for books for which it had a need in the next semester. Our partnership with NBC augments your returns at buyback. NBC has an interest in purchasing books for schools across the nation, and not just Colgate. Our partnership with NBC opens your book to a national market.
